Fiona Scott 25th January 2021

I'm bereft that Nick has left us. He was such a wonderful gentleman and he made the early part of 2020 a brighter place for me and opened my eyes to the beauty of the Cotswolds as never before. He also lived in a mobile home - a way of life I embrace too (touring caravan). I loved the sheer variety of who he was. I wanted to let you know that even though I've known him for barely a year, we spoke several times a week through his role with Cotswold Taste and we were two of a kind in many ways - the way we looked at life. I called him the 'eccentric gentleman with the posh voice' and I'm the coal miner's daughter with a few choice words up my sleeve! We got on brilliantly. We only met once, I picked him up and we had lunch at the Trout in Lechlade with a friend. It was a beautiful sunny August day and we chatted, got to know each other a little and made some plans. We laughed a lot. To think I won't hear his voice again or chat to him about beer, or Cirencester or Lechlade again is unbearable. There was so much about him that I didn't know and would have delighted in finding out over time. We had such different backgrounds and yet were two people who delighted in difference and we were genuinely interested in each other. He was a rare soul. I just wanted you to know that he meant a lot to me as a business buddy and from the start as a friend. I wanted you to know that he and his time on this earth, mattered.
