When we came over from Denmark in July 2018 we visited Nick in Lechlade for the first time. He spent some days with us and we enjoyed with him the local food and beer in different pubs and restaurants he knew well. My husband, Jan, is also a great beer lover and the two discussed the different types of beer. Of course Nick was the expert. In one of the pubs there is a saying on the wall: 'He was a wise man who invented beer' (Plato) - and how right this old man was. It might have been Nick who could have come up with those words - I thought. During the conversations we had those days, Jan also mentioned his great passion of steam locomotives and Nick at once suggested that we could visit The Didcot Railway Centre on our way towards London where we were going to visit other members of the family. Need I say that we spent several hours enjoying the big engines and the interesting museum on a beautiful summer's day - thank you Nick for knowing about this special place. You will stay in our memory. Cousin Anita and Jan from Denmark
