I was very sorry to hear about Nick's passing. I didn't know him well, but every time we met, usually at the Rose and Crown in Ealing, I always found him delightful company.

I was working on a one man show around ten years ago for which Nick had some wonderfully eccentric ideas about how to publicise the play. This usually involved the Guinness brewery, the play being about Sir Alec! Nick had us in fits all night discussing his ideas!
