I first met Nick around 15 years ago at a celebration of 'slow food' in a recently discovered Elizabethan banqueting hall somewhere in Essex. Since then we went on many wine and beer tasting sessions, including the one here in Oxford where I live. Nick was a true British eccentric, wonderful company and definitely a one off! I am shocked and saddened to hear of his death, he will be greatly missed.
